Kyoto Blues

Stitching the applique pieces onto the Meg's Garden quilt is alot of fun, but is taking a long time. So, while I am doing that, I thought I would share a couple of photos of the quilt I made for my parents for Christmas.

My mother knew she wanted blues and browns, and a more contemporary style, preferably with circles. We searched the internet and quickly found this Kyoto Blues quilt offered as a kit through Connecting Threads.

Having never purchased fabric online, I was nervous about the quality of the fabric, but when the kit arrived my concerns were put to rest. I would definitely purchase fabric from Connecting Threads again!

I was just delighted with how the quilt came together. The brown medallions are appliqued on and they represent my first foray into applique! I used the blanket stitch to applique them on.

My mom was delighted with it too!
